Binary options trading platform
UI/UX Designer | Product Designer
About the project
An international binary options trading platform. When I joined, the product was on hold. The main goal was to relaunch the platform in a new form: to make it clear, convenient, visually attractive and competitive in fast-growing Asian markets.
Audience
Main markets: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia.
Features:
  • Weak internet and small Android devices;
  • Mobile traffic dominates → mobile first;
  • The iOS audience is only 10%, but it brought in 38% profit;
  • Localization support: English, Hindi, Arabic script.
My role
For almost 2 года работы I was responsible for:
  • redesign of all platform elements;
  • creation new design system from scratch;
  • UX flow design: registration, deposits, trading, analytics;
  • development and implementation onboarding, training and bonuses;onboarding, training and bonuses;
  • Support for two themes—light and dark;
  • Implementation control across the front and backend;
  • Implementation of gamification to increase engagement in commerce;
  • Implementation of product features.
Team
The team ranged from 8 to 16 people: product and project management, SEO, risk management, billing, frontend, backend, QA, and analysts.

We worked using Scrum: dailies, grooming sessions, and retrospectives. I communicated directly with the product, frontend, backend, and testers.
Solution design
  • Complete rebuild of the design system: grids, colors, component libraries.
  • Typography work: I wanted to replace Roboto with DM Sans, but the team kept Roboto.
  • Navigation: unified logic through sidebars, convenient for trading sessions.
  • Minimization of steps: deposit and registration are now shorter and clearer.
As part of my portfolio, I show key screens and explain the process, but a live demonstration is best for giving a full impression of the product.
Results
Retention has more than doubled: The average client lifetime increased from 3 to 7–8 months..
LTV increased thanks to the retention and growth of the iOS audience.
The average deposit increased (due to iPhones with higher checks).
Training and bonuses received positive feedback from users.
Gamification made the product more interesting, although its contribution was more to engagement than revenue..
Conclusions
  • Working at Binany was a pivotal experience for me:
  • I learned to manage a fintech product almost single-handedly as a designer, collaborating with a large, multi-functional team.
  • I developed my skills in creating design systems and developing mobile-first experiences for low-end devices and poor internet connections.
  • I saw how onboarding, training, and gamification directly impact user retention and trust.
  • I understood the value of localization and culturally specific interfaces (Arabic script, Hindi).
  • Most importantly, I became convinced that design in fintech is a key driver of trust and metric growth.
